225mph Jaguar XF-R

13 01 2009

As with most of Jaguar’s prototypes the XF-R will probably not make it into production, but at least it’s a full working model, powered by a 510bhp 5.0-litre V8.

Hitting the Bonneville salt flats in Utah, America, Jaguar’s XF-R recorded a top speed of 225.675mph – beating the 1994 Jaguar XJ220’s top speed by 7mph. Only minor aerodynamic mods were made including an adjustable spoiler, splitter, intake and parachute.
