Derm’s Euro Punto

27 01 2009

Derm aka Andy from has been busy over the past 5 months transforming his Punto into a Euro show stopper thanks to Xquisite Automotive and D:Class. Over that time Andy’s had the body completely smoothed and the arches rolled to cater for the awesome OZ-racing split rims, cheeky bit of camber all round and a wicked race/euro interior. Expect it finished within the next few weeks – it’s going to look awesome!

Random: keg-spec dish wheels

27 01 2009

Paul @ has been busy developing one of the best web features we’ve ever seen, giving UK and European buyers the ability to buy anything they like from the Yahoo Japan auctions with JDMGarageUK sorting the shipping and handling.

Anyways, this means we’re finally able to get our hands on some of the most gangster wheels around for a budget price, check out the examples below:

15x14in 100-spoke wires, single pair for £300

3-piece BBS in 14x13in, £250

18x13in SSR Koneig splits, £1060 set of four

18x13in Rays Forged GT300 wheel – up for just £250, there’s a matching rear for just £100! Someone buy these…

Throttle bodies?

Not quite, 15x13in Cherry Blossom Sakuras, the rarest of rare rares. Believed to be one of only 3 pairs in this width, expect to pay £3000 for the pair, but uber JDM retro points in the process.

Check it out HERE or on the blogroll to the right.

Not that we get some sort of perverse kick out of Car vs Animal videos, but there’s something just a little bit comical about this one…

Most powerful R35?

26 01 2009

South Side Performance have been busy developing a range of new parts for the GT-R including a new intake manifold, turbos and exhausts. Currently the SSP R35 has been dyno’d at 645awhp and 645lb-ft of torque, and that’s without fine tuning on the COBB ecu.

This figure was achieved with minimal mods, including a 21psi boost increase, GTR820RR SSP turbo kit, HKS Kansai midpipe and SSP inlet spacer – that’s 130awhp over stocker!

Max Projects: Toyota Yaris

23 01 2009

Max’s latest (and smallest) project car to date is the baby Toyota Yaris you see below. Starting it’s life as a humble 1.0-litre 4-pot, we’ve been busy trying to make the Yaris ‘Max Worthy’ with a little help from our friends Sumo Power, Fensport, Perkins Automotive and Toyota UK.

So far the little Yaris has been treated to a HKS turbo kit thanks to Sumo Power with MoTeC engine management set up and mapped by Fensport. There’s a set of TRD coilovers sorting the ride out, bumper-exit exhaust and even a TRD limited slip differential – who says micro hatches can’t keep up with the big boys?

Next up on the list is the bodywork courtesy of Perkins Automotive, including a carbon roof, front mount intercooler and rear diffusor. Over the following months we’ll be fitting it with a rollcage, sizing up the Volk Racing CE28N rims and taking it out for a spin…
